The Kaduna State Police Command has shed light on the recent security breach incident during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state. According to the police, the individual who breached security protocol and rushed towards the President’s stage has a history of psychiatric disorders.

In a statement, the Command’s Spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, identified the individual as Umar Mohammed, a native of Anguwan Muazu in Kaduna. The police explained that Mohammed was screened and admitted into the stadium as an All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter, wearing the standard campaign T-shirt and carrying banners bearing the images of the President and Governor Uba Sani.

According to the police, Mohammed’s actions were likely driven by excitement and curiosity, which led him to breach the protocol and jump into the restricted area. He was immediately blocked and arrested by the security team. A thorough search of his person revealed no incriminating items.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, has warned against spreading falsehoods or politicizing the incident. He assured that the matter would be further investigated.

The police have provided clarity on the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
