Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ ), Kaduna Council, has urged the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP ), Kaduna Chapter to as a matter of urgency caution its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Katoh Alberah against dividing Kaduna Journalists.
This followed the PRO’s decision to accredit only a few journalist to cover the PDP governorship primary election which is meant to be a national assignment.
The council announced the decision for caution in the communique released on Wednesday following the forth edition of its monthly congress held in Kaduna.
In the communique which was signed by Usman Sani, considered the action of the PRO as an attempt to create a crack and disunity amongst its members.
The communique further described the PRO ( Alberah) of been too rude and arrogant to Kaduna journalists.
The Union therefore enjoined its members to be more united and be more dedicated to their duty and not to allow any individual or group to divide them.
” Should the PRO continue in this direction of trying to divide the united Kaduna NUJ Council, the Union would have no option than to boycott PDP’s activities in the state,” the communique reads.
The Union therefore condemned the harassment of members by security agents in a recent event of the PDP.
