The Kaduna State Government has unveiled a health insurance scheme for pensioners in the state, in partnership with the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA) and the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP).

At the launch on Monday at the Ministry of Health Conference Hall in Kaduna, State Commissioner for Health Umma Ahmed explained that the scheme aims to provide comprehensive and affordable healthcare coverage to pensioners, reducing the financial burden of medical expenses.

Ahmed emphasized that the partnership between KADCHMA and NUP aligns with the state’s vision of universal health coverage for all residents

She praised Governor Senator Uba Sani for his commitment to the Contributory Health Scheme and pensioners’ welfare.

Ahmed emphasized that the partnership between KADCHMA and NUP aligns with the state’s vision of universal health coverage for all residents.

KADCHMA Director General Abubakar Hassan stated that the scheme allows pensioners to access healthcare services from any public or private facility across the state without incurring out-of-pocket expenses. He noted that the scheme resulted from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between KADCHMA, the Kaduna State Pension Bureau, and NUP.

Hassan commended the partners for embracing the scheme and working together to ensure pensioners receive the healthcare they deserve.
