Just In: Kaduna NNPP Gets New Executive, New State Chairman Talks Tough Ahead 2027

A new executive committee of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in Kaduna State has emerged, following a compelling judgment of the Abia State High Court. The court’s decision compelled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hand over the administration of the party to the Board of Trustees (BOT), led by Dr. Boniface Okechikwu Aniebonam, according to the party’s Constitution 2022 as amended.

The new executive emerged after the Kaduna State Congress of the party, which was held at the Aso Motel on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

In a statement, the NNPP Kaduna State Publicity Secretary, Babale Gwalo, said that the party is abiding by directives from the national secretariat, which were conveyed in a memo signed by the National Secretary, Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, dated December 26, 2024. The memo informed that INEC has been notified of the dates and venues of the congresses and convention.

A seasoned legal practitioner, Barrister Steve Adamu, administered the oath of office on the newly elected state executive. The new NNPP Kaduna State Chairman, Abubakar Abdullahi, assured that the party will abide by its manifesto and excel in the 2027 general elections in the state and the country.

Those elected to the new executive committee include Abubakar Abdullahi as State Chairman, Dennis V.A. Kachiro as Deputy State Chairman, and Philibus Dauda Ladan as State Secretary. Other positions filled include three Zonal Vice Chairmen, State Legal Adviser, Deputy State Legal Adviser, Treasurer, and State Financial Secretary, among others.
