Kaduna Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader Secure APC Consensus Tickets

The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dahiru Liman, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Barr. Magaji Henry Danjuma, and the Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, have emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for their respective constituencies following consensus affirmation exercises.

Rt. Hon. Dahiru Liman was unanimously affirmed as the APC candidate for Makera State Constituency. The Returning Officer, Engr. Ezekiel Samuel Gode, declared him the winner after he was adopted as the sole consensus candidate.

“Having received the affirmation results from the five voting areas and with no other contestant in the race, I hereby declare Rt. Hon. Liman Tahiru as the duly returned and affirmed candidate for the Makera State Constituency seat,” Gode announced.

Similarly, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Magaji Henry Danjuma, secured the APC ticket for Kagarko State Constituency unopposed. The APC Returning Officer, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Apo Jere, formally declared him the candidate at the local government collation centre.

In Lere East Constituency, the Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, also emerged as the party’s candidate after a peaceful affirmation process across the six wards. Returning Officer Hon. Aminu Yaro officially returned her as the APC nominee at the exercise held in Saminaka.

In a significant move to promote party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, several other APC aspirants voluntarily stepped down and endorsed the consensus candidates.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Abdulrazaq Shuibu Labbo, an aspirant for the Kaka/Gogi constituency in Birnin Gwari, attributed the decision to consultations and interventions by Governor Uba Sani.

“We stand in full solidarity with the progressive leadership of Governor Senator Uba Sani and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to his successful re-election and the overall victory of the APC in Kaduna State and across the nation,” Dr. Labbo said.

The aspirants who stepped down include Dr. Abdulrazaq Shuibu Labbo (Kaka/Gogi, Birnin Gwari), Mustapha Adam (Giwa West), Deborah Musa (Lere West), Isah Nasidi (Doka/Gabasawa), and Kabiru Bale Ahmed (Kawo).
