The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has officially appointed Engr. Musa Nimrod as the Grand Patron of its Kaduna State chapter, recognizing his significant contributions to sports development in the region. The announcement was made in a formal letter dated April 29, 2025, signed by YSFON National President, Patrick Okpavuerhe.

In the letter, YSFON expressed its gratitude for Nimrod’s dedication as a sports enthusiast and philanthropist, noting that his efforts have greatly advanced sports initiatives in Kaduna State and across Nigeria.

“We in YSFON believe that your achievements have put you above your peers and can only be comparable to our former National Patrons like Alhaji (Dr.) G.N. Hamza, Bashorun M.K.O Abiola, and the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo,” the letter stated.

The organization highlighted Nimrod’s “numerous and immeasurable contributions to sports and humanity” as the driving factor behind his nomination.

The investiture will be packaged to reflect sports as Nigerian unifying factor

The appointment reflects YSFON’s commitment to recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on sports, a unifying force in Nigeria. The federation, founded on April 6, 1965, operates under the motto “Dedication, Justice & Progress” and focuses on grassroots sports development. With its national headquarters at the National Stadium Complex in Surulere, Lagos, YSFON continues to foster talent and promote sportsmanship across the country.

The letter also emphasized the symbolic importance of Nimrod’s new role, stating, “The investiture will be packaged to reflect sports as Nigerian unifying factor.” YSFON expressed its eagerness to collaborate with Nimrod, hoping to hear from him soon to prepare for an induction ceremony that promises “great media hypes.”

Engr. Musa Nimrod, a prominent figure in Kaduna, now joins an esteemed list of YSFON patrons, including Alh. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna (National President), Vice Admiral G.T. Adekunle (Rtd) (National Grand Patron), Chief (Mrs.) Helen Esuene (National Grand Matron), Dr. Amos Adamu (National Patron), Alhaji Abba Yola (National Patron), and Malam Ibrahim Shekarau (National Patron), among others.

This appointment is expected to further strengthen YSFON’s mission in Kaduna State, inspiring young athletes and fostering greater community engagement through sports. As preparations for the induction ceremony begin, all eyes are on Nimrod to see how his leadership will shape the future of sports in the region.
