The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kaduna State Chapter has appealed to law enforcement agencies in the state to as a matter of urgency, tackle the case of individuals, impersonating its authentic leadership in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Kaduna SWAN Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday December 19, 2019.

SWAN said that one Abdulwaheed Adubi has been going round posing as the Secretary of the association in the state and has refused to quit the impersonating, in spite of a warning from SWAN’s national Secretariat.

“We are unhappy that Mr. Adubi is going round issuing statements and even claiming to be the Secretary of Kaduna SWAN. The national body led by it’s President, Honour Sirawoo has since warned him and his cohorts to desist from doing same but from recent happenings, he seemed to have turned deaf ears.

“Adubi and his cohorts earlier this week, issued a statement that they had constituted an electoral committee to conduct an election for State executives, a joke taken too far.

“We call on security agencies to do the needful and intervene by calling the impostors to order to avoid situayt that may lead to the break down of law and order.

“SWAN National Secretariat has since circulated letters to earn the unsuspecting general public of the dangers of dealing with the imposters, stating clearly that Comrade Isaiah Benjamin is the recognised and authentic Kaduna SWAN chairman, while Jacob Onjewu Dickson is the Secretary,” it stated.

SWAN also used the opportunity to remind the general public that they should avoid dealings with the imposters and relate instead with the authentic SWAN officials.
