Kaduna Uba Sani Bags Prestigious Governor of the Year 2025 Award from Leadership Newspapers

In a resounding recognition of his people-centered leadership and transformative reforms, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, was today conferred with the Governor of the Year 2025 award by the Leadership Media Group.

The honour was bestowed at the 18th Annual Leadership Conference and Awards Ceremony, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja. The event celebrated outstanding contributions to national development, governance, and public service.

Governor Sani, visibly moved, described the award as a deeply humbling experience that belongs not to him alone but to the resilient people of Kaduna State and the dedicated public servants driving progress across the state.

In his acceptance remarks, shared via his official statement, the governor expressed profound gratitude to the Leadership Media Group for deeming his administration worthy of the prestigious recognition. He paid glowing tribute to the late Founding Chairman, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, whose visionary and principled journalism laid the foundation for the enduring national institution.

He also commended the late chairman’s wife, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah, and the management team for upholding and advancing that legacy.

“This recognition belongs to the good people of Kaduna State resilient, hopeful, and committed to peace and development,” Governor Sani stated. “It is also for the hardworking public servants who labour daily to rebuild trust in governance and deliver meaningful change.”

Highlighting key achievements, the governor emphasized his administration’s focus on four critical pillars: security, agriculture, infrastructure, and inclusive governance.

He noted that peace and stability form the bedrock of development, achieved through sustained dialogue, strengthened security coordination, and inclusive community engagement.

In agriculture, significant investments have repositioned the sector as the backbone of the state’s economy, boosting productivity, supporting farmers, and expanding agro-processing and value chains.

Infrastructure efforts include over 140 road projects covering more than 1,335 kilometres, connecting rural areas, stimulating commerce, and unlocking economic potential.

The administration has also prioritized skills acquisition, women’s empowerment, youth development, and support for vulnerable citizens to ensure broad participation in the state’s growth.

Governor Sani extended special appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unprecedented support to sub-national governments, stating that “no President has supported sub-nationals as steadfastly and generously as President Tinubu.”

He warmly congratulated the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, who was named Leadership Person of the Year 2025 for her exemplary life of service and contributions to national unity and social investment.

The award ceremony featured multiple honorees, including several other governors recognized alongside Governor Sani for outstanding leadership in areas such as infrastructural transformation, fiscal discipline, and security enhancements. Leadership Newspapers cited Governor Sani’s inclusive and reconciliatory approach uniting communities across divides along with massive urban-rural infrastructure delivery, healthcare revitalization, and empowerment of farmers and youths as key reasons for the honour.

The recognition is seen as a validation of Governor Sani’s “MORE Agenda” in action, reinforcing his commitment to empathetic, disciplined, and visionary governance. He vowed that the honour would further strengthen his resolve to serve Kaduna State with even greater dedication.
