Kaduna Unveils State-of-the-Art Abba Kyari Banquet Hall as VP Shettima Hails Gov Uba Sani’s Visionary L’ship

‎Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, on Tuesday commissioned the newly constructed 1,300-capacity Abba Kyari Banquet Hall at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Government House, Kaduna.

‎The event, which coincided with the 2026 Nigerian Public Relations Week, was presided over by Governor Senator Uba Sani, CON, who described the project as far more than the commissioning of a building.

‎“Today, we did more than commission a building; we gave expression to a governing vision rooted in purpose, dignity, and long-range thinking,” the Governor stated.

‎Governor Uba Sani emphasized that the banquet hall represents a deliberate investment in the institutional architecture of Kaduna State.

‎The modern facility is designed to host high-level meetings, consequential conversations, international conferences, investment summits, and major state functions, thereby strengthening the state’s capacity to engage meaningfully with ideas, partnerships, and alliances that drive development.

‎The Governor expressed particular appreciation for the presence and insightful remarks of Vice President Shettima, who commended Kaduna State for setting a standard worthy of emulation.

‎According to Governor Sani, the Vice President’s observation reinforces the critical balance between advancing citizens’ welfare, implementing impactful policies, and building institutions that lend enduring legitimacy to governance.

‎In a poignant tribute to history and legacy, the facility was named after Brigadier General Abba Kyari (rtd), the first and longest-serving Military Governor of the former North-Central State (now Kaduna State).

‎Brigadier Kyari served in that capacity from 1967 to 1975, a period marked by discipline, clarity of purpose, and steadfast service during and after the Nigerian Civil War.

‎Governor Uba Sani noted that naming the hall after the revered military administrator anchors the milestone in both history and principle.

‎He acknowledged the deeply felt appreciation expressed by Brigadier Kyari’s family, describing it as a reminder that true leadership leaves an indelible imprint that transcends time.

‎The Abba Kyari Banquet Hall is expected to serve as a symbol of continuity — a space where legacy informs action and where the collective aspiration for a more inclusive, progressive, and development-driven Kaduna State finds enduring expression.

‎The commissioning ceremony drew notable dignitaries and further highlights Governor Uba Sani’s ongoing efforts to reposition Kaduna State as a hub for strategic engagements and good governance in Nigeria’s North-West region.
