It was all tears of joy in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state when a US based Journalist, MagnaFaith Krimi, assisted victims of Kajuru crisis particularly women with sewing machines, grinding machines, among other items to aid them with means of livelihood.
The beneficiaries, who mostly are maimed as a result of the crisis that led to the loss of lives and destruction of unimaginable property were full of joy to what many described as a dream that comes their way.
Represented by the state CAN chairman, Rev. John Joseph Hayab and Sheikh Haliru Maraya, the U.S. based journalist said she was moved with the condition the victims found themselves and the need to give her meagre resources to give their lives a meaning.
She noted, “As human, one is naturally moved with the condition these victims found themselves, some cannot moved from where they are, neither can they help themselves by way of catering for themselves, and worst still, majority are widows with nobody to give them a helping hand with the children under their care.
“When l saw some of them during my first visits to the DIPs camps, l could not hold my tears but had to weep for them looking at the condition they found themselves.
“What l am doing today is a way of sharing with them what they going through and in my little way to offer the little l can to cushion their pains and give hope out of a life of hopelessness.
“It is my earnest desire that the little l am giving them will go a long way to effect a positive beginning in their efforts to start new lives and also help their children to live meaningful lives in the future.”
Responding on behalf of beneficiaries, Esther Bayu, thanked MagnaFaith Krimi, for her concern towards their flights and assured that they would judiciously use the materials given to them for their use and the benefit of their children.
She said, “As you provide in this hopeless situation that we found ourselves, the Almighty God will always remember you in every challenge of your life because the Lord will provide a helper for you when there is no way for you.”
A community leader, who sought for anonymity expressed shock with the assistance made and said it is the first of its kind by any individual assuring that the materials will go a long way to make life better for the beneficiaries.
He called on other well to do people or organizations to assist the victims, saying that most of them have not been able to find their feet again since what befall them. “With this assistance coming their way, lt will go a long way to make many of them forget what has happened.
