A catastrophic multiple vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday evening at Karu Bridge, Abuja, resulting in the loss of six lives and the destruction of 14 vehicles in a raging inferno.
According to police sources, the accident happened at approximately 6:58 p.m. when a Dangote trailer, fully loaded with cement, suffered brake failure while traveling from AYA to Nyanya.
The out-of-control trailer crashed into stationary vehicles caught in traffic, triggering a massive fire that engulfed the surrounding area. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the impact of the crash causing a series of blasts that sent fireballs and debris soaring hundreds of meters into the air.
Some projectiles were flung nearly a kilometer from the crash site, causing widespread panic among residents and road users as commuters scrambled for safety.

Emergency responders, including police operatives and fire service personnel, swiftly intervened to contain the fire and restore order.
