Kebbi school: Troops battle bandits, one abducted student killed, five rescued
At least one of the students of the Federal Government College, Birnin-Yauri, Kebbi State, abducted by bandits has been killed.
The student was killed as troops engage the criminals in a gun duel.
This was made known to newsmen on Friday by Abubakar AbdulKadir, the Deputy force commander of the joint taskforce in the North-West.
AbdulKadir, meanwhile, said that the troops, following the gun battle, rescued five others abducted by the bandits, including four students and a teacher.
The students and some of their teachers were abducted from their school on Thursday, June 17, afternoon.
As of the time of this report, the exact number of students abducted by the bandits was still unknown.
