The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha has challenged security agencies to double efforts in ending the rising cases of kidnapping and armed banditry by being on the offensive by sniffing out the criminals in their hide outs.

Mr. Mustapha, represented by Major General Paul Tarfa (rtd), expressed this while fielding questions from newsmen at the closing of the 53rd Annual Convention of the United Church of Christ in Nations (HEKAN) in Kaduna on Sunday April 7, 2019.

“You find so many police personnel on the roads, waiting for the criminals. They should instead, go to the bush and get them instead of waiting for them to attack people before going after them,” he submitted.

Speaking further, he said that security lies in the hands of the general public.

“Security lies in the hands of everybody. We should all contribute in our little ways of making the country safe,” he advised.

He stressed that intelligence gathering is very important and a major key to winning the fight against criminal gunmen in the country.

“Nigeria is facing bad situation, we pray God brings respite,” he concluded.
