Incessant killings of innocent people in Taraba state has remained a thing of concerns, as an eighty year old woman Hannatu Kefas was murdered by an unscrupulous elements, in Karim Lamido local government area of the state.
Madam Hannatu was discovered death, after five days when she left home in Karim to Kodei village for a farmwork and were unable to be seen in the area.
Investigation revealed that Hannatu was found in a neighbour’s farm, forty meters away from Karim metropolis stink with her two eyes missing, a tongue, breast as well as her private part and nails.
Speaking to Journalists in Karim Lamido LGA, in-laws to the deceased, Mr. Amos Joshua Karim and Khadimoh Sani Ishaku, explained that Hannatu was a peasant farmer who usually leaves Karim town every Tuesday to Kodei village and comes back Saturday, was however made her last farewell from the family members to be murdered by miscreants.
Ishaku, stated that where the woman was murdered is closed to a bar joint known as “Cool Joint forest” about 200ms away from Karim metropolis, where some miscreants, gangsters used to perpetuate their hideous crimes at the detriment of the community.
The Cool Joint Forest, is a commercial center where beer and some other drinks are sold with high spate of hooliganism and gangsterism of which are on the increase in Karim metropolitan.
Investigation also shown that the recent incident was the fifth term where people were being killed, nab and snatched of many motorcycles as a result of atmospheric insecurity of the zone, owing to the nuisance and the kind of activities observed in the area.
However, Mr. Khadimoh Sani Ishaku, appealed to the state government and security operatives to expedite action by taking a punitive measure to arrest and punished the perpatrators to serve as deterrent to others.
Madam Hannatu Kefas was said to be brave winner of her family, as she left behind trained many children and great grand children under her watch.
Meanwhile killings has become the other of the day in Karim Lamido LGA, which claimed many lives among them is the killing of a vigilante officer, Alhaji Sakare, in pira in Karim town.
Commenting on the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Taraba state Police Command, DSP David misal said that the police was not informed about the missing of the old woman, Hannatu Kefas until when she has been discovered death.
