Kings Worship Chapel And Ministry Inc. Dispels Foul Play In Rev. Azzaman’s Death

The General Overseer of Kings Worship Chapel and Ministry Inc., Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, Rev. Dr. Sam Magai Albert, has dismissed rumours suggesting foul play in the tragic death of Rev. David Ayuba Azzaman, the Assistant General Overseer of the church.

Rev. Azzaman died in a fatal car accident on Saturday while returning from a Christian crusade held in Makurdi, Benue State.

Addressing journalists at the church premises, Rev. Albert confirmed that the accident occurred near Idon, along the Kaduna–Kafanchan highway.

“From the briefing I received, the car he was travelling in was trying to avoid potholes when another vehicle hit it on the front side where Rev. Azzaman was seated,” he said.

According to Rev. Albert, the impact was particularly devastating on the front passenger side, where Rev. Azzaman was sitting. He sustained critical injuries, including broken legs and trauma from hitting his chest on the dashboard.

“Some of the other occupants sustained injuries as well,” Rev. Albert added. “They were treated and have since been discharged.”

Rev. Azzaman was immediately rushed to the nearest government hospital in Idon for emergency treatment, but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he passed away shortly afterward.

“He was receiving treatment when he gave up the ghost,” Rev. Albert said.

Visibly emotional, Rev. Albert paid a heartfelt tribute to his late colleague, describing him as more than just a deputy—he was a beloved brother and a dedicated servant of God.

“Before he passed, Azzaman told those attending to him not to pray for him. He said, ‘I just want to go,’ and then burst into a popular Hausa worship song before breathing his last,” Rev. Albert recounted.

“I lost a younger brother, a trusted ally, and a tireless worker in the Lord’s vineyard,” he added. “I know that he is now resting in the bosom of Christ.”

“He was the best of the best,” Rev. Albert concluded, stating that funeral and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.

Rev. Azzaman was a central figure in the leadership of Kings Worship Chapel and Ministry Inc., known for his humility, evangelistic zeal, and deep commitment to community outreach. His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the church and the wider Christian community.

A condolence register has been opened at the church headquarters in Sabon Tasha and at his residence, where members and sympathizers continue to gather in mourning and prayer.
