The Kwararrafa Kwararrafa Galaxy Club has trained eighty four teachers in Wukari local government area of Taraba state on science and mathematics.
The association was funded by T Y Danjuma foundation .
The training is aimed at enhancing the capacity of teachers, towards inculcating science knowledge and mathematics on pupils in primary school.
Speaking at the training exercise, the state coordinator of TY Danjuma foundation, Emmanuel ishaku said the foundation is committed to educational growth of the state and commended Galaxy club for such a laudable exercise.
He said the foundation received more than 80 applications, out of which Galaxy was selected among those given grants and urged participant to used the lesson learned to shape the life’s of the pupils.
In his address, the Executive Director of Kwararrafa Galaxy club, Sabi Zaku said the quality education based on science and mathematics provides the bedrock for rapid industrialization of any society.
He said no education system can rise above the quality of it’s teachers, adding that teachers education is therefore the foundation of quality education in any nation .
Zaku explained that reqular and periodic training of teachers was a necessity in order to update their knowledge.
According to him, mathematics and science plays a vital role in nation buliding as it provides Doctors, engineers and other professional needed.
Sabi Zaku was however optimism that the training will bring a new dawn in the teaching of science and mathematics in wukari local government.
