Labour Party Declares Ishaku Abbo as Adamawa Governorship Candidate

The Labour Party (LP) has formally declared Senator Ishaku Abbo as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Adamawa State.

The party also unveiled its candidates for the three senatorial districts, the eight House of Representatives seats, and the 25 State House of Assembly constituencies.

The declaration was made on Saturday during the party’s primary election and affirmation exercise held in Yola. The exercise was conducted by the chairman of the Labour Party Primary Election Committee, Sam Ochiama.

Ochiama stated that the process was carried out in full compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act and the constitution of the Labour Party. Candidates who emerged unopposed were affirmed through voice votes by delegates and party stakeholders.

He announced Emmanuel Musa as the Labour Party candidate for Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Peter Fwa as the candidate for Adamawa South Senatorial District, and Dawuda Mohammed as the candidate for Adamawa North Senatorial District.

Ochiama also announced all the eight House of Representatives candidates as well as the 25 House of Assembly candidates of the party.

The committee chairman noted that Senator Abbo’s emergence reflected the confidence reposed in him by party members across the state. He expressed optimism that the Labour Party would present a formidable challenge in the forthcoming elections.

Ochiama called on all party faithful to close ranks and work together for the success of the party at all levels. He emphasised the need for unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
