The Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCC) and president of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Most Rev Musa Panti Filibus send condolence message to the family of Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) over the loss of Pastor Dare Adeboye.
In the letter Archbishop Panti said he received the news with shock, for the church to have loss such promising Christian leader whom he said he has met personally but that God the all-knowing does only His will. He called on the family to take comfort in the promise of God in the Scriptures.
He said, “The loss of Pastor Dare is not just a loss to the Adeboye family or RCCG but to the entire body of Christ and he will be greatly missed. Our comfort of course is that he has lived a life that will remain a testimony and worthy of emulation. I remember listening to his presentation at the Ecumenical Center some months ago and I saw a future for the church in Nigeria.”
The Letter in full:
I received with shock the news of the death of Pastor Dare Adeboye who went to be with the Lord.
On behalf of my family and the entire members of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) I wish to extend our deepest condolences.
The loss of Pastor Dare is not just a loss to the Adeboye family or RCCG but to the entire body of Christ and he will be greatly missed. Our comfort of course is that he has lived a life that will remain a testimony and worthy of emulation. I remember listening to his presentation at the Ecumenical Center some months ago and I saw a future for the church in Nigeria.
As you pass through these days of grief, may you find solace in the word of God that says, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first” 1 Thessalonians 4:16. May God multiply His grace upon you and give you peace beyond understanding. Amen.
