LCCN organises a three days fasting program against the violence killings in the country

The Council of Bishops of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN has enjoined members of the church to embark on fasting and prayers from Monday twenty third to Wednesday twenty fifth of July twenty against the violent killings.

This was contained in a statement after meeting of the Council of Bishops in Numan jointly signed by Arch Bishop of the LCCN, Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus and Secretary of the Bishop’s Council, Right Reverend Benjamin Fuduta.

The statement called on government to take proactive measures to intercept and bring to an end the activities of the herdsmen as well as provide relief materials to the displaced persons while also making heste to safely resettle them in the ancestral homes.

It urged the political office holders, religious and traditional rulers to rise to end violent attacks and cautioned security operatives not to be partisan in the discharge of their duties of safeguarding lives and property as well as territorial integrity of Nigeria.

The statement indicated that as a church, it will continue to advocate for tolerance, peace and peaceful coexistence while praying for God to forgive and heal Nigeria for the attrocities committed against innocent people.

It saluted those that have supported the displaced and called on all to respect the sanctity of human life by restraining from any act that will discrete human life.
