The winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial primary election in Taraba State, Rtd. Col. Agbu Kefas has called on his fellow Contestants to support him win the general elections come 2023.
Col. Kefas made the appeal after being declared winner of the Primary election held at the main bowl of the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo.
He charged his opponents to accept the outcome of the result in good faith stressing that it is God’s will, the wish of Taraba people and aimed at moving the State forward.
“I want to appeal to my people to accept what has happened in good faith, this State needs everybody’s contribution to move forward”,
“Let’s work together to win our elections in 2023”, he said.
Our Correspondent reports that the Result of the election, won by Rtd. Col. Kefas Agbu was announced by the Returning Officer, Kabir Bappa Jauro.
Before announcing the Result, Jauro disclosed that the total number of accredited votes were 522, total number of votes cast including Delegates were 517.
According to the Returning Officer, Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd.) polled 443 votes to emerge the winner of the election.
“Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini came second by scoring 31 votes, Prof. Jerome Nyame scored 24 votes, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya got 11 votes while Dr. Hilkiah Bubajoda Mafindi got 6 votes”, he said.
“By the power vested on me as the Chief Returning Officer of Taraba State PDP primary election, I have Col. Kefas Agbu Rtd. as the winner of the election”, said Jauro.
While commending the Delegates and other Party supporters for maintaining peace and order through out the Exercise, the returning Officer described the exercise as fair, peaceful and credible.
