Governor Umaru Fintiri explained that the election would enable the electorates at the local government areas to elect leaders of their choice who would man the affairs of the councils so as to entrench dividends of democracy at the grassroots level.

Fintiri has also expressed concern on the ban on importation and use of NPK and Urea fertilizer in Adamawa among other states in the Northeast by the Federal Government, which was done for security reasons.

According to the ban has frustrated the plan to supply the commodity to farmers in the state by the state government. He urged farmers to be patient with the directive as his administration would look for other alternatives that could be used.

He worn people in the state against illegal importation of the banned commodity into the state, to avoid being arrested and charged with terrorist crime.

Ahmadu further assured that in the last thirty days, his administration has performed creditably well in the areas of security, education and welfare of civil servants among others.

Fintiri explained that his administration has redefined the position of the state, gradually and steadily getting it out of the labyrinth, reiterating that he would not leave any stone unturned with the view to fine-tune the fortune of the state.

While thanking the CAN leaders for their support and prayers for the success of 2019 general election. He urged them to maintain the posture as his administration would be fair by carrying everyone along.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Most Reverend Stephen Dami Mamza said the aim of the visit was to congratulate the Governor for his successful inauguration.

Mamza said CAN was not unaware of the huge challenges facing the state but expressed the hope that Governor Fintiri would be able to fix them by virtue of his pedigree and intellectual capacity.

He admonished the Governor to treat issues in his administration with justice, fairness, transparency and accountability without fear or favour for the unity and development of Adamawa.

Mamza also applauded the governor for the giant strides recorded by his administration within his thirty days in office and assured that CAN would continue to give him all the necessary support for the success of his administration.
