The scheduled All Progressives Congress (APC) Saturday, 4th September 2023 local government election in Adamawa is beguiled with a looming Crisis as a factions is raking total collapse of the party if the right thing is not followed
The foreseen coming Crisis is noticed with a sharp division of Party’s stakeholders of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha’s Local Government, Hong in Adamawa state
You could recall that a faction under the caretaker committee chairman of the party in Hong, Hon Bako Waliya on 29th August 2023 addressed a group of supporters at Shagari Royal Guest House in Yola where they have agreed on a consensus as the best way to adopt the party’s primaries.
After the meeting of this faction, a communique was later issued to TG NEWS, in it was noted that if all efforts have failed to achieve consensus among aspiring members who purchased forms, they recommended the conduct of free and fair elections during the local government Congress, 4th September 2021 to ensure level playing ground for all parties members.
On the contrary However, the faction which has the likes of Gen (retd) Aliyu Kama and Engr Marcus Gunduri, BD Lawal as senior stakeholders, Hon Albert Atiwurcha, Hon Mamman Hassan Barguma, Hon Hayatu Mohammed (Yellow), Hon Faith Pukuma, Alhaji Sanusi Hong, Vicent Musa,Hamisu Ibrahim, and Mr. Dauda Gunduri under the auspices of “APC interest group” vowed to crackdown the party in Hong shall there be anything less than good conduct of the Congress elections.
Their decision was taken when they converged at the Aliyu Kama’s House in Jimeta-Yola today (Thursday) and reiterated that the survival of APC in Hong is tie to a solid consolidation of the system through free and fair primaries.
Hon Barguma in an interview with a TGNEWS reporter further unraveled and labeled Hon Yusuf Buba Yakubu (Captain) as the financier of sponsoring the caretaker chairman, Bako Waliya who is characterized with incompetence.
He accused Buba of wanting consensus because of his interest not the overall interest of the larger APC family in Hong.
He said the group is after the successes and victories of the party if the leadership of Bako who is known with ineptitude and lack forthrightness,lacks the leadership goodwill and has over the years been found wanting in winning elections.
According to him, because of Bako’s leadership defects, a lot of APC members decamped to PDP from his ward where APC has never won any election.
“Our interest in all this is a successful primary with a fair play to all aspirants who purchased forms aspiring for one office or the order.
“Let me tell you, we want Bako out because he can’t lead us to victory, his gross incompetence is glaring, replacing him with better people is the best for the party and we have them enough.
” As I’m talking to you we have the likes of Hamisu Ibrahim, Vicent Musa who while in opposition have led their then party of ACN to victory. Our thinking now is since these people purchased the chairmanship form there should be a good primary election that can give us a good party leader in our local government to take us to victory.” Mamman Said
He frowned at the way and manner Buba jettisoned the normal tradition of Hong APC stakeholders of having their consensus meetings at Kama’s House who is the Chairman stakeholders of their party. A house his candidacy and many other people was decided.
He insisted that fair and free primaries should be conducted, that can produce credible and competent local government party leaders and can guarantee victory in 2023.
“No consensus, we are heading for election in Hong, Let there be a free and fair election.
“Honestly anything short of this we will mess up the party if they didn’t allow free and fair local government congresses in Hong. I tell you we will rock the boat.
“We are in opposition, we want consolidation in our local government congress and we don’t want miscreants to come and hijack the party, if they do we will rock it up.” He vowed
He said Buba is using fake stakeholders to bring the party to a losing spot if there are no party stakeholders like Engr Babachir David Lawal, Aliyu Kama, Marcus Gunduri, and Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong in his meeting.
