LP IN FREE FALL: Another Rep Jumps Ship to APC Amidst Party Implosion!

In a move that’s becoming all too familiar, another member of the Labour Party (LP) in the House of Representatives has jumped ship to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Daniel Chollom, a representative from Plateau state, announced his defection on Tuesday, citing the ongoing leadership crisis within the LP as the reason for his switch.

Chollom, in a letter presented to the House by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, claimed that the internal disputes within the LP had made it impossible for him to affiliate with any particular faction, thereby hindering his ability to provide effective representation to his constituents.

He also expressed his intention to support the President in his efforts towards national development.

The APC continues to poach members from the opposition, it remains to be seen how this will impact the balance of power in the House of Representatives

This defection is just the latest in a series of blows to the LP, which has been struggling to maintain unity amidst internal power struggles.
