The attention of the Periscope Global Publishers Ltd, Publisher of the Periscope online has been attracted to a letter being circulated threatening the Periscope to tender unreserved apology or face legal action.
The letter drafted by House of representative member, “Ja’afar Abubakar Magaji representing Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha Federal Constituency of Adamawa state and State Assembly member Isa Yahya, representing Maiha local government of Adamawa state, rooted through A.A. Jatau Chambers, demanded an unreserved apology from the periscope in two national dailies within 7 days.
The action of the letter in circulation, is a reaction to the Periscope publication of “1st August, 2020, which is titled ‘Monarchy In Maiha: Bindow loyalists lawmaker back Idi for contempt of court – Youth
The law suit alleged that it was a “libelous and fabricated report against our clients thereby grossly affect the political reputation and the image of our clients in the eyes and minds of the good people of Adamawa state, particularly the indigenes of Maiha local government area of Adamawa state,” the circulated letter read in part.
The letter is yet to formally get to the attention of the Periscope Global Publishers for any action.
However, is the letter supposed to request an apology from the Periscope or from the aggrieved youth in Maiha that made the allegation reported by the Periscope?
