Man beats wife to death in Jigawa

A 27-year-old man, Yusuf Zubairu has beaten his 23 years old wife, Fatima Hardo to death.

Zubairu was said to have lost his temper and pounced on his wife over a domestic issue which resulted in him killing his wife on Wednesday, 29, 2021.

A female neighbour, Rabi Lawan, who had gone to separate the feuding couple, also had her own bitter taste of Zubairu’s seeming mad action.

Disclosing this awry incident at a press briefing, the state police command spokesman (PPRO), Lawan Adam, relying on an eyewitness account, Bulama Muntari-Ubale 65, said: “Zubairu hit his wife with a stick on the head during the misunderstanding, which eventually led to her death”, adding that a woman who went to separate the fight was also seriously injured.

On receipt of the report, the PPRO said, a team of policemen were dispatched to the scene of the incident at Baldi Village, in Sule-Tankarkar Local Government Area of the state and rushed the two victims to Gumel General Hospital, where the suspect’s wife was certified dead by medical personnel.

According to the PPRO, the other injured victim was, at the time of the briefing, being attended to at the hospital.

He stated further that, the suspect had been taken into custody by the police.
