Matrix Energy Denies Importing Substandard Fuel, Misconduct Allegations

The Matrix Energy Group has categorically denied allegations of importing substandard fuel into Nigeria and engaging in any misconduct in its business operations.

In a statement signed by Ibrahim Akinola, Head of Corporate Communications, the company emphasized its commitment to quality and integrity.

The statement reads:

“Matrix Energy Group is a wholly indigenous and independent oil marketing and trading company with substantial investments in strategic infrastructure. We are recognized and approved by global international companies, national oil companies, major construction firms, and various end-users.”

The company noted that the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) is the sole regulatory body empowered to issue import licenses and enforce product specifications.

Matrix Energy has consistently imported products that meet approved specifications and has never been found wanting in this regard.

The company also denied discharging 200,000 metric tons of PMS into its facility in July 2024, stating that it has never imported or distributed any substandard cargo in its two decades of operation.
