The 2018 Masters graduates of Peace and Conflict Studies from Modibbo Adama University’s (MAU) Centre for Peace and Security Studies have conferred a Meritorious Award of Honour on their distinguished colleague, Comrade Musa Abbas Kiri, now a Permanent Secretary in Adamawa State’s Ministry of Local Government Affairs.
You are a true ambassador of MAU, representing us well
Led by class representative Mr. Emmanuel Ande, alongside Eunice Dirasu, Usman Salihu Mohammed, and Tom Garba, a delegation of over 50 alumni visited Kiri’s office to present the award. The group lauded Kiri, also known as the Jarman Shelleng of the Shelleng Chiefdom, as a stellar ambassador of MAU.

“You are a true ambassador of MAU, representing us well,” Ande declared while presenting a plaque. “Your honesty and high integrity, known to us all, are the qualities that propelled you to this enviable position.”
In his response, Kiri, a passionate philanthropist, expressed gratitude to his peers, emphasizing his commitment to serving God, his community, and his family while leaving a lasting legacy for his children.

He highlighted the work of his foundation, which supports women, youth, orphans, and the less privileged in Numan, Demsa, and Shelleng. “This award is cherished, and I dedicate it to the rural woman struggling to educate her children and to every schoolgirl fighting to survive life’s challenges,” Kiri stated.
