Professor Bashir A Bashir of Modibbo Adama university has conveyed a reunion meeting for his 1987 set of Government Day Secondary School Yola (GDSS) Town.
The Alma mater reunion of the Old Students Association Class of 1987 was held on Saturday, 17th September 2022 at Digital Hall Yola Town where Bashir while giving his remarks reiterated the importance of the Old Students Association.
He said Old Students Associations anywhere are critical stakeholders in the development of their Alma mater.
The meeting which was anchored by Chief Gabriel Apavo had the attendance of its members who graced the historic occasion.
The Head Boy of 1987 set, Alh. Aliyu Modibbo and Head Girl, Haj. Rauda Buba were some of the prominent members in attendance that gave their separate remarks and appreciated the organizers of the reunion.
Alhaji Aliyu called on all members to come on board to support GDSSYLT to a greater height.
Professor Bashir told our correspondent that the reunion was colorful, historical, and emotional as it brought together classmates that have not met for a period of 35yrs.
One of the co-converter, Haj. Husseini Ahmed Vokna made the vote of thanks by reminding all members to bring back the good memories of 1987 by building a better Nigeria.
The next meeting is slated for December 2022 where more members are expected to turn out en mass for a progressive meeting.
