In a vibrant ceremony steeped in tradition and celebration, Dr. Maurice Vunobolki was coronated as the Dyapa Bwatiye, a revered chieftaincy title among the Bwatiye people of Adamawa State. The event, attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers, marked a significant moment in the region’s cultural and developmental landscape.

Mohammed Yusuf, popularly known as OC, lauded the new chief, describing him as a diligent leader whose life’s work reflects a deep commitment to serving both God and humanity.

OC, a respected figure in the community, spoke glowingly of Dr. Vunobolki’s character during the coronation. “Maurice is a man of diligence, deliberate in his pursuit of doing good for humanity and honoring God,” he said.

He highlighted Vunobolki’s impactful tenure as the North East Zonal Coordinator for the Federal Government of Nigeria and World Bank’s Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP).

As the Dyapa Bwatiye, Dr. Vunobolki is expected to embody the values of leadership, unity, and progress for the Bwatiye people.

His work with the MCRP has already demonstrated his ability to bridge divides, bringing hope to both young and old through projects aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, improving livelihoods, and promoting social cohesion in the North East.

“His efforts have been transformative,” OC noted, emphasizing Vunobolki’s dedication to uplifting communities regardless of ethnic or regional boundaries.

The coronation ceremony, held in Numan, featured traditional rites, music, and dances, with attendees praising Vunobolki’s humility and vision. Community leaders expressed optimism that his new role as Dyapa Bwatiye would further amplify his contributions to the region’s growth.
