The arable land of Mbula community area of Demsa Local Government, Adamawa state was considered neglected and abandoned by government and well meaning individuals to harness its economy potentials.
The revelation was made today by a socio cultural group under the auspices of Mbula Development Association (MDA) in Yola and the National President, Michael Balasom Kingsley of the group said their communities are yearning for more government presence both at federal, state and local governments levels.
Kingsley said this in maiden press conference at the association’s office in Yola as the newly inaugural officials who were elected four days ago to spearhead the association apex leadership at national level.
Kingsley while responding to questions of journalists, he faulted the siting of Federal Medical Center (FMC) Hong and Mubi which are not too far away from each other.
He gave example with Burrong, an Mbula town but only have a cottage hospital not even a general hospital and the entire Southern Senatorial zone, an area with nine local government, according to him one of the FMC should be sited there.
He however said that MDA is another dawn that will be experienced under his leadership that the challenges of the association will be proffer with a better solution.
“It is a new dawn for us as a people and since it is no longer disputable that we have come of age as a people and nation, we must all brace up to confront the challenges that stare us in the face with the confidence to overcome in the end.” Kingsley
He reiterated the EXCOs vision to transform and unite Mbula nation and can be achieved through MDA’s mission statement which is “to facilitate the transformation and unity of the Mbula nation through progressive leadership and empowerment initiatives”.
He said under his leadership the agony of Mbula nation will end as they will organized and begin to take deliberate steps towards prosperity.
“Our destination maybe far from where we stand today, but trust me, it will not matter when we get there so long as we arrive together. And nothing will stop us from reaching if we do not stop taking steps however short the pace maybe.
“God has greatly blessed us as a people to do well and to excel at any and everything wherever we find ourselves. But what we have lacked over time to my mind is the inability to harness our potentials. We will be more powerful if we stand together, and the energy that we can generate will be so formidable that individuals, government, and organizations must reckon with us.
“Let us tell the world that we know what we have and therefore we are here to stay because we are not about to leave. We shall initiate the process of realigning with our kit and kin from Girei, Numan and Shelleng Local Governments. Every Bantu family member across the length and breathe of Nigeria must be sought out and our family ties reestablished.
“We will like to make clear the path that we will tread while we remain EXCO just so we can be held accountable if need be: ensure that Mbula is first in our struggle for development foster unity
restructure, empower and ensure active participation of all Mbula sons and daughters in Mbula activities and in politics create opportunities for the acquisition of knowledge through practice and performance (entrepreneur)
partner with NGOs, Government, Mbula sons and daughters at home and in diaspora to bring about development
encourage participation through periodic town hall meetings show case Mbula culture and artifacts to the world view.” Kingsley added
Other officials of MDA who were recently elected are: Michael Ngula (VP1), Andy Ndaley Chaswarkyam (VP2), Husseni Auna Hangale (Secretary), Bwalasom Offar (Financial Secretary) Barem Ayuba (Fin Sec 1)_Pusam Hebron G. (Fin Sec 2).
