Eid-el Firt was celebrated peacefully in Taraba State with a call on Muslim Ummah not to throw away the lessons learned during the fasting period of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Emir of Muri Mallam Abbas Tafida made the call while addressing a large number of people who paid him Sallah homage shortly after the eid prayer at his Palace in Jalingo, Taraba State Capital.
Tafida who quoted various Verses from the Holy Qur’an said, Islam is a religion of peace and does teaches it’s believers to kill or cause chaos in the society, therefore he charged Muslim to fear Allah in all their doings and desist from any act that could damaged their image and the religion itself.
Mallam Abbas Tafida also enjoined both Muslim and Christians across the country to embrace one another and leave in peace for the benefit of all, stressing the for wealthy Nigerians to partner with government at all levels in boosting the economy as well as the educational sector among others for the development of the nation.
The Emir however, urged people of the state to make sure they obtained their Voters card to enable them vote for credible leaders come 2019, while he advised the Medea practitioners to be objective in their reportage for the peaceful coexistence of the country.
Our Correspondent who observed the two Raka’ats of the Eid-el firt prayer at Dr. Jalo Eid prayer ground in Jalingo local government area reports that, the prayer was led by Sheik Ibrahim Jalo whose sermon focused on the importance of given Zakkatil -fitir as well as the need for Nigerians to pray more for President Muhammadu Buhari to succeed on his agenders.
Meanwhile Residents of Jalingo in an interview with Radio Nigeria expressed gratitude to God for keeping them alive to witnessed this year’s Sallah celebration and prayed for the peaceful coexistence of country.
