Mrs James emerges Adamawa WOWICAN Chairperson

Adamawa State Chapter of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) have elected Mrs Helen James as the organization’s Chairperson.

Helen emerged the winner of the election which was conducted in the Adamawa State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Secretariat haven scored 70 votes.

Mrs Lois Angula WOWICAN National official who came from the Abuja headquarters supervised the conduct of the election and affirmed it was fair and free.

Other national delegates who witnessed the election process are Mrs Victoria Bangoji from Yola National official, Mrs Rebecca Anthony from Taraba, North East Official and Mrs Ruth Kawuwa from Gombe Ex- Official and Former National Chairperson.

Mrs James, the newly elected WOWICAN Chairperson, a candidate from the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) got the support of four blocs with the exception of Catholic bloc.

The Ten delegates from Catholic bloc our correspondent reported that they staged workout when they were informed the will not be of the election.

The election system has it that there are five bloc, each bloc has ten delegates and 21 Local Government CAN coordinator including secretaries all have voting right that can be vote and be voted for.

Mrs James while delivering her acceptance speech appreciated the woman for given her their mandate to work for the entire christian women.

According to her the mandate she got will never be played down or devalued and stressed that her administration will foster unity among the Christian women and the entire CAN.
