…. says is in line with the party’s constitution
An All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Adamawa State who is a former Lawmaker in the state Assembly, Hon Muhammed Shehu Sani said the Vice Chairman of the party in Mubi North Local Government area, Mr Bulus Wadai Borno should automatically replace the vacant position created as the result of the death of Alhaji Usman Sarki Mudu, the former Chairman.
He said since the demise of Mudu, Vice Chairman Bulus has been serving the party in an acting capacity as the party’s constitution provided and therefore appealed to the state chairman of the party, Barr Idris Shuaibu to be considered as the substantive chairman as stipulated in the constitution.
Sani while quoting relevant sections of the APC’s constitution to buttress his point, said articles 14, 2, I, ii, III, and iv and 15 (2) of the constitution are very clear, direct,t, and instructive on the death, resignation, or absence of the chairman at any level or who should be chairman if any circumstance above arises.
Sani exhaustively quoted and cited APC’s constitution and appealed that:
“Sir, from the foregoing provisions the Vice Chairman Mr Bulus Wadai Borno from the time of the demise of Alhaji Usman Sarki Mudu automatically becomes the chairman of APC of Mubi North Local Government in line with the provisions of the law cited above. This means that the appointment, or endorsement of any other person by whatsoever group or organ to fill in the office of the Chairman is illegal, Unlawful, and unconstitutional.
“Sir, we are humbly calling on the party leadership to use their vintage position to enforce and ensure compliance by affirming the Vice Chairman Mr Bulus Wadai Borno as the substantive party chairman of Mubi North Local Government area knowing the fact that Mubi North Local Government area is a strong base of the party that no tussle worth tearing party apart.
