Victims of the mob attack in Mangun community of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State have been buried.
The victims, including men, women and children were all residents of Basawa-Anguwan Rimi community, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
They were travelling to Qua’an Pan LGA to attend a wedding ceremony when they were attacked.
Their remains were laid to rest at Hayi Muslim Cemetery, on Saturday evening, amid tight security.
According to religious leaders in Mangu, relatives of the victims gave consent for their burial in Plateau State in order not to cause tension in their hometown.
Before offering the funeral prayers, religious leaders appealed to Muslim faithful to take the incident as the will of Allah and refrain from taking the law into their hands.
A cleric in the area who led the funeral, Sheikh Suleiman Haruna, urged residents to remain calm and exercise patience, as the government promised to punish the perpetrators.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the incident in strong terms.
He directed security agencies to ensure the arrest of those responsible for the killing of the travellers.
