Musa Kallamu: The story of a Ranking lawmaker of ADHA

In today’s world of politics for the purpose of Humanity where democracy is the hub of leadership in Nigeria and around the world. In Adamawa North east Nigeria in the serene community of Mbila Ward,Mayo Belwa,there born a man who became symbol of hope to many young Nigerians. A leader born about four decades ago in the land of beauty (Adamawa state), in him are feats of leadership-naturally born leader, an individual with the right influence, inspiration, determination and self-discipline to become a solution to not only in Adamawa State but Nigeria as a nation.

On 13th August, 1974, a genius was born amidst laughter and tears of joy in the family of Mahmud Kallamu, where they had Hon Musa Mahmud Kallamu.A man that was earlier discovered by elders in Mayo Belwa is going to rewrite the history of Adamawa and to bring solutions to generations yet unborn.

Having undergone both the Islamic and western education with flying colours. Musa earned an upper class B. Tech Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (URP) from the Modibbo Adama university of Technology (MAUTECH) in 2002 with a Masters in-view in the same course his destiny is resting.

Musa in his perception of leadership,is a tasking and much is demanding from those God willed the virteous in them. Leadership can be very enslaving,the fame and popularity that come along with it may take away your sleep and freedom. Musa see it a privilege to serve humanity under the gift of representation that God willed him to do.

Kallamu availed himself for God to use him to give his talent of leadership to people of all races and places,on receiving the support by the invincible hand of God not to break away from given the right services, haven the full wisdom, Grace and knowledge to conduct himself to meet the expection of the people,he grow to see people as the best reason for leaders to be leaders. Without people there can never be leaders or anything call democracy or act of leadership

KALLAMU’S JOURNEY OF HUMANITY SERVICE-BECOMING THE RANKING LAWMAKER

From whatever perspective,God or Man leadership is synonymous to servitude, it is servitude because a Leader is expected to be under God’s absolute control and the people who gave them the mandate to serve.

Hon Musa Mahmud Kallamu is a Man that’s said of him has much of leadership abilities right from a very much tender age,it began to manifest while a primary school pupil,he was made the head prefect. This gift grown in where he later became a coordinator of Sebore Foundation scholarship an NGO that’s seeing to the needs of less privileged students in Tertiary institutions. The founder of the foundation, the former Governor of Adamawa state, Admiral Murtala Nyako adjudged Musa a man with high level of integrity, an attitude that nurtured him to political lime light,building his life on trust as a yardstick to become a better leader.

Like the Young eaglet, which has a steady focus (vision) to soar high to bigger horizon in order to see clearly the prey she want for food. Musa as a portential first class material was hired by Obasanjo led adminstration in the ministry of land, housing and urban development,Abuja in 2005,a place many will consider a privilege but to Musa was a burden without purpose with less impacts to his immediate communities.

His little contributions to the people of Mayo Belwa was remembered by the old and Young of the land, a beckon was made to him to aspire a political seat of his constituency. In 2010 a clarion call was sounded to him as a call to noble service to humanhood . After a fierce contest, Young Musa emerged an elected Lawmaker to represents the people of Mayo Belwa constituency in Adamawa state house of Assembly in the PDP,the then ruling Party. He maintained the lead in 2011-2015 with countless resolutions, bills and Laws to the development of Adamawa state. One thing that’s never out of place in his life style of lawmaking is his level of integrity and forthrightness in chairing many house communities and belonging to many others.

When the 2015 wind of change blew, it came with a radical change of new innovation that PDP ruling party were automatically replaced by All Progressives Congress (APC) from bottom to the top of all tiers and phases of government especially in Northern Nigeria. Kallamu as a shrewd politician on his decamped to APC by the demands of his people became a member elect for the second term under the APC ruling party with a unison endorsement of his colleagues to give him a principal office of majority Leader under his care.

While in the office Musa exemplified himself with creeds of humility, integrity, sincerity,credible and selfless leadership until 2017 an in-house intrigues politics dominated few lawmakers whose yearned for change base on their interest. He honourable relinquished the Office and in humility bowed in Thanksgiving to his colleagues.

The abilities of this Man of many leadership peculiarities has in 2015 became a Chairman of many communities and members of so many others such as:

1. Chairman House committee,Special committees on Rules,Business, ethics,privileges and public petitions.

2. Chairman House Committee on information and SDGs

3. Chairman House committee on security and Electoral matters.

4. Member House committee on commerce and industry

Kallamu is a lawmaker that knows that the business of any lawmaker is of making laws, he has the following bills which are been processed into Law.

1. A Bill for a Law to make a provision for the establishment of a compulsory reserved fund for the state in which to be served a certain part of the earnings of the State for use in time of emergency and for matters connected therein etc.

2. A Bill for a Law to make mandatory Human immune Deficiency Virus (HIV) and genotype sickle cell Anaemia Testing in Adamawa state and other matters related thereon..

Few as the 2015 to date bills are,one with a human angle feelings will attest that these bills worth the while and are the best of it’s kind for the sake of Adamawa people.

Call him a Man with many award for the contributions he bring to people in his good abilities for people around the world.

A widely traveled lawmaker in Search of knowledge to build up his legislative abilities. At the course he traveled to country like:

South Africa,Kenya,Ethiopia, Ghana,Mauritius etc.

The procession of stepping up to a position of a ranking Lawmaker coming up in 2019 as the good people of Mayo Belwa constituency of Adamawa state are not tire of his representation. For the third time,in the coming six assembly they are presenting him again to continue the service of humanity built in humility on the man Kallamu.

During his form submission to recontest for the third time,the experienced lawmaker revealed that, he can’t vie for any position More or less than what his constituents are asking him to vie. To him a Leader must lay aside personal freedom to take on the yoke of people, as their messager (leader) taking on the people’s yoke means he have to relinquished personal desires,dreams and aspirations and take up what majority are asking him to do.

Musa has his philosophy of representation as a service to God and Humanity. According to him In whatever perspective, leadership means to serve, it is not surprising, some today through the liberal democracy have put leadership out of tune,using their leadership position to oppress those under them.
