Muslim Council Yola-South Branch Inaugurates New Executive Officials

The newly elected executives of the Muslim Council of Adamawa State, Yola-South Local Government Branch, have been officially inaugurated to pilot the affairs of the organisation for the next three years.

The inauguration ceremony took place over the weekend at the Council’s Secretariat in Yola and attracted a large gathering of dignitaries, including Muslim Council members from state and ward levels, Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, and well-wishers.

Engr. Mohammed Bashir Buba was inaugurated as Chairman, with Modibbo Abubakar Modibbo Iya as Vice Chairman I and Modibbo Umar Abdullahi as Vice Chairman II.

Other key officials include Malam Abdullahi Murtala Ibrahim as Secretary General, alongside treasurers, financial secretaries, public relations officers, organising secretaries, auditors, and 29 ex-officio members and advisers, bringing the total number of inaugurated officials to 42.

In his address, the State Chairman of the Muslim Council, Alhaji Gambo Jika, charged the new executives to promote unity, peace, and understanding among Muslims and non-Muslims in the local government area.

He urged them to hold regular General Purpose Committee meetings as required by the organisation’s constitution and assured them of continued support and monitoring from the state executive.

The District Head of Yola and Doula Adamawa, Alhaji Zubairu Adamu Bawuro, who was the Father of the Day, called on Muslims in the area to fully support the new leadership.

Former Commissioner Hon. Mustafa Musa, who chaired the occasion, commended the outgoing executives for their remarkable performance, especially for securing a permanent secretariat for the branch.

Guest Speaker, Sheikh Ahmad Umar Kaduna, delivered a lecture on good leadership, emphasising honesty, fear of Allah, and accountability.
