An Adamawa Female politician who is a critical stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon Faith Pukuma said the brouhaha of a Muslim Muslim presidential ticket that embroiled the party is caused by no other person than the former SGF, Engr Babachir David Lawal.
She queried the attitude BD exhibited before, during, and after the APC national convention when he threatened thunderstorms to party members if Chief Ahmed Bola Tinubu will not be brought on board as the party’s flag bearer.
Mrs. Pukuma who came from the same local government of Hong as Mr. Lawan explained that is crying more than the bereaved because he was the brain behind Tinubu’s success.
According to her whatever is brewing as regards the Muslim Muslim ticket David should blame himself and not show up defending the Christian faith.
She said he had all the chance to support Christian like Osibanjo but was busy working for Tinubu and threatened party supporters with a sanction if they didn’t vote for his candidate (Tinubu)
She worried at his behavior of pushing Christians to be in the nominal role of second-class citizens while they have all that it takes to be whatever in this country since he prefers Tinubu to VP Yemi Osibanjo or Rotimi Amaechi.
She revealed that the lamentation of Lawal is more of shedding the crocodile tears because BD is aware his friend, Tinubu will not settle for what will not make him win the 2023 election.
She condemned the viral posts, audios, and publications credited to BD Lawal and the Senator representing Adamawa North, Senator Ishaku Abbo (SIA), and asked whether they are actually fighting for the sake of Christianity or something else.
“I have read statements trending on Social media credited to Uncle BD Lawal and SIA. It left me in derision to ask the duo a question if they are fighting for the sake of Christianity. If truly is for our religion why did they settle for the 2nd position of a running mate while there are chances for a Christian to get the presidential ticket during the Congress at eagle square? ” Faith asked.
She recalled the party’s simple arrangement based on the moral or gentleman agreement of the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari is a Muslim from the North and for equity sake and fairness, power should be shifted to the south, preferable to a Christian politician.
She revealed how BD, SIA worked against the likes of Osinbanjo, Ameachi, and many others as Christians vying for the Presidential ticket but insisted that Tinubu should be given the ticket. They don’t have any moral ground to complain about any decision taken by him because they adjudged him as the best APC Man to be the next president.
“Why is he crying more than the bereaved? To me he is just pretending, shedding the crocodile’s tears. BD was the one that picked his nomination form and followed with press statements here and there that if Tinubu will not be given the ticket they will opt for plan B. Then why is he lamenting now?
” He should allow us to have some peace to win the election. As much as the ticket is not favorable to me as a Christian, I’m still okay with it. They should allow us to work for the victory of our party.” Faith said
She continued to say that SIA has some delegates under his control and yet he refused to utilize it to support a Christian candidate to get the ticket. “Who is deceiving who? ”
She said if BD and SIA were Smart enough they would have compelled Tinubu to have a proper agreement over the choice of a running mate. “But they ended up being used and dumped by him and they are now crying in the name of fighting for religion. I don’t believe them.”
“In as much I’m saddened with the situation that is about tearing the party apart and pulling it down with the Muslim Muslim ticket, I’m equally not happy with our leaders using social media to exonerate themselves from the mess they all put us in as a people. In all we do, I employ us all to be upright in our dealings because we are being watched through the eyes of the world.”She added
