My attention was drawn to an online publication attributed to Mustapha Salihu, a floundering political irredentist with no grassroots credibility or relevance. When I came across the crass farce, I resisted the temptation to join issues with Mr. Salihu because, of course, there are people one should not pay attention to, especially people like him who usually come out chasing clout whenever the need to warm up their political appendage to lure a potential political investor arises. These strategies occasionally work for them. But I felt it was necessary to make some points clear to the uninformed public, who know little or nothing about him.
Salihu referred to Senator Binani as a “political failure” in a ridiculously written statement. But I found it extremely demeaning for that to come from someone who has been turned into a political punching bag by Senator Binani. Was Mustapha suffering from dementia, as he had quickly forgotten how he had received the trashest blows from Binani? Perhaps, yes!
But, if my guess is wrong, how did he forget so quickly that in 2011, when he ran against Binani for a House of Representative seat, he lost woefully, almost disgracefully, by an unprecedented wide margin to the same person he calls “failure”? He lost his local government, ward, and even polling unit in that poll to the distinguished senator.
Maybe that was a bit long, but the outcome of the recently concluded APC gubernatorial primaries is still fresh in our minds, where the same Salihu, who boasted of having the party’s structure in his pocket, was hired to ensure the victory of a specific candidate but was disgracefully sent packing along with his candidate by Sen. Binani. I believe Salihu is still recovering from his defeat; the stroke was brutal! Unless Salihu is suffering from dementia, these facts should be enough to convince him that Sen. Binani is no match for him in all aspects of life.
Salihu was quoted in the same publication as saying, “The PCC deemed it fit to remove Sen. Binani following Justice Abdulaziz Anka’s judgment.” This is, once again, a blatant lie. Let me remind Mr. Salihu that the Anka’s judgement was delivered on October 14th, 2022, and Sen. Aishatu Binani was sworn in on October 21st, two days after the date on their fake appointment letter of replacement in circulation.
Sen. Binani was retained because all PCC investigations revealed that Sen. Binani is a grass-roots politician with the political muscle to drive the party to victory.
May I reiterate that Sen. Binani’s resignation is voluntary, and it is intended to prevent unscrupulous and politically insignificant people from further attempting to discredit revered people like former Governor Nyako because he shared a common interest with Senator Binani in progressively uniting the party.
Finally, I would advise Mustapha Salihu to look in the mirror whenever he seeks political failure, because Senator Binani’s acceptability, credibility, popularity, and unprecedented support stemmed from the Almighty God and her services to humanity, which no mortal can change.
