Mutfwang’s Defection: A Massive Boost for APC in Plateau – Alhasan Yakubu

In a major political development, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant gain for the ruling party.

Alhasan Yakubu, Director of Intelligence for Community to Community (C2C) – a mobilization group supporting Mutfwang and President Tinubu – spoke exclusively to our correspondent about the implications of the governor’s move.

According to Yakubu, Governor Mutfwang’s decision to join the APC represents a substantial addition to the party. “The coming of the governor is an addition because he has the capacity and everything already on ground. I think he’s bringing more to APC than APC is giving to him,” Yakubu said. He emphasized that the governor’s experience and leadership skills would prove invaluable to the party.

When asked if the defection was influenced by other governors joining the APC, Yakubu rejected the idea. “He’s not defecting. He’s only adding value to APC. Because Plateau needs people like him,” Yakubu stated. He contrasted this with the PDP, which he described as being in disarray: “Do you want to stay in a home that’s already been destroyed?”

Yakubu also highlighted the role of C2C, a long-standing community-to-community mobilization group that identifies as progressive. “For C2C, we have been here for a very long time, and we are progressive at the same time. We have been in various communities. So we are going to be great mobilizers for Tinubu and Mutfwang on the Plateau,” he said.

Yakubu believes Governor Mutfwang’s move will revitalize the APC’s position in Plateau. “APC was already dead as far as I’m concerned on the Plateau. But with the coming of Mutfwang now, you can see everywhere is APC. It’s not just about Mutfwang. It’s about Plateau projects,” he added.
