In a political landscape marked by shifting alliances and intense debates, Chief Maurice Vunobolki, a prominent governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, has reaffirmed his commitment to the people, declaring that his loyalty lies not with any political structure but with the ordinary citizens of the state.

Speaking amid recent developments following his principled resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Vunobolki described his decision as one rooted in responsibility rather than rebellion.

The move, which came after a brief stint in the party, has ignited widespread discussions across Adamawa, yet the former PDP chieftain insists it underscores a deeper truth: true leadership demands unwavering dedication to fairness, equity, and the collective aspirations of the populace.

Vunobolki, who holds a PhD and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), positioned himself not as a politician defined by labels, but as a servant-leader bound by a sacred pact with diverse segments of Adamawa society — from the farmer tilling the fields in Ganye to the trader bustling in Mubi’s markets, the civil servant in Yola, the energetic youth in Michika, and the resilient women powering communities statewide.

At the core of his vision is a comprehensive Nine-Point Strategic Agenda aimed at repositioning Adamawa as a beacon of inclusive growth and sustainable development.

This people-driven blueprint emphasizes rural-urban connectivity through robust infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and digital networks to unlock economic opportunities and foster unity.

It also prioritizes a transformative shift in agriculture, moving from subsistence farming to a modern agro-industrial economy equipped with technology, financing, and market access to boost exports and generate jobs.

Healthcare features prominently, with plans for a three-tier system upgrade ensuring accessible, affordable, and quality services backed by sustainable funding.

Education takes center stage too, focusing on future-ready programs that sustain free quality learning while integrating digital tools and skills aligned with global demands.

Empowerment initiatives target youth and women through entrepreneurship support and inclusive policies, while reliable access to portable water and sanitation infrastructure is slated for both urban and rural areas.

Recognizing the backbone of governance, Vunobolki pledged enhanced welfare, training, and social protection for civil servants to build a motivated workforce.

Renewable energy generation forms another pillar, promising decentralized power solutions for homes, businesses, and industries.

Finally, a community-driven security and peacebuilding framework aims to strengthen local intelligence, foster trust, and ensure lasting stability.

Vunobolki stressed that his ambition transcends partisan politics, framing it instead as the birth of a purposeful movement.

“The events of recent days have only reinforced my conviction that the people of Adamawa deserve leadership that listens, includes, and delivers,” he noted.

He extended an open hand to both supporters and critics alike, underscoring that diversity of opinion strengthens democracy.

While acknowledging the ongoing gains under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration, Vunobolki urged a forward-looking focus as 2027 approaches.
