INTENDED ELECTIVE OFFICE: Chairman, Demsa Local Government Council.
The name Martins Yanatham Dickson has become synonymous with integrity, courage, justice, equity, commitment, passion and patriotism.
Martins Yanatham Dickson is running for the office of Chairman, Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
VISION
To provide leadership that is proactive and solution based, aimed at improving the quality of life of the people of Demsa Local Government Area.
MISSION
To work tirelessly in the pursuit of the overall purpose and objectives of the All Progressives Congress providing leadership and robust representation for the common good of the people of Demsa Local Government Area which will position Demsa on the path of growth and development in social/physical infrastructure and human capital development.
MY PLEDGE
When voted into office Martins Yanatham Dickson will trigger robust leadership that will transform Demsa especially in the critical areas of providing basic needs, access to a dignified livelihood, peaceful and harmonious coexistence, job creation, provision of infrastructure, education, healthcare, sports development and modern Agricultural activity.
It hurts to imagine that a Local Government Area such as Demsa that is richly endowed in manpower and natural economic resources is still left behind in economic and infrastructural development.
All help must come, and it has come through Martins Yanatham Dickson.
The areas in which Martins’ leadership will give priority includes;
– Reducing unemployment, poverty and inequality amongst the people of Demsa Local Government Area.
– Sports development has always been the selling point of Demsa youths but these has since eroded. We will drive through a sports program that will enhance sporting activities, fine-tune raw talents, make sports attractive and define Demsa Youths as a source ~ pool and professional hub for diverse sports.
– Reengineering the economic life of Demsa residents is a must, especially now that resources are dwindling due to the fall in oil prizes globally.
– My election will change the fortunes of Demsa Local Government in Agribusiness, the viable and numerous potentials of the local Government in Agriculture will be vigorously pursued by me in proposing and influencing partnership with advanced Agricultural investors that will bring about establishment of small and medium scale industries aimed at making viable diverse agricultural value chain a real bussiness activity as it absorbs the youths and women.
On a long term basis, Demsa has abundant raw materials and arable land for Tomato blending company, rice mill, and fishery in industrial scale. We are already thinking of viable investors in this areas.
– Adequate provision of functional infrastructure which will include but not limited to Education, Healthcare, provision of potable water, roads, and skills acquisition. These are critical areas that my leadership as Chairman will focus on, ensuring progress and growth.
– Ensuring an effective and efficient healthcare delivery is one of my priorities, I will vigorously pursue a healthcare delivery program that will:
a. Strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure and facilities for Demsa
b. Coordinate safe medical care in all rural communities in Demsa
c. Decentralize healthcare responsibilities through partnerships
d. Reduce maternal and child mortality in Demsa rural communities and also to
e. Ensure available cost effective treatments to all patients.
Having benefited from education, I do not underestimate the benefit of education to Demsa people with special focus on the youths, it is the catalyst and stimulus for driving planned socio-economic development initiatives, my tenure will propose and strive to implement;
a. Early childhood development
b. Ensure that every child is able to attend a good local school within Demsa communities.
c. Improve the quality of teaching and learning
d. Improve literacy level, school enrollment and better access to education for every girl child in Demsa.
e. Attracting quality teachers with incentives to enable them deliver on the job.
The challenges are enormous but my virtues which include focus, courage and determination are sure pointers to the capacity needed to surmount these challenges and bring about a prosperous, glorious and envious Demsa Local Government Area.
There is no reason why Demsa Local Government Area should remain stagnant, lacking infrastructure and conducive environment for its people to thrive in their various chosen careers and life endeavors.
It is with this consciousness that Martins Yanatham Dickson intends to lead Demsa to an enviable status, making it the pride of not only its citizens, but the pride of Adamawa State and the pride of the Nigerian Nation.
This is my pact with the people of Demsa Local Government Area.
