N1.37 Trillion Statutory Transfers: North East Development Commission Gets N290.99 Billion Boost

Nigeria’s 2025 budget has allocated a total of N1.37 trillion for statutory transfers, with the North East Development Commission (NEDC) receiving a significant allocation of N290.99 billion. This funding is expected to support the commission’s efforts to rebuild and develop the North East region, which has been affected by insurgency and other challenges.

The NEDC was established to address the socio-economic challenges facing the North East region, and this allocation will enable the commission to implement its mandate and make a positive impact on the lives of the people in the region.
