The operation, carried out by NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement team, was based on credible intelligence. The affected warehouses are located around Ndazabo White House along Minna Road and behind Bida Modern Market.

Items seized during the raid included approximately 80,000 packets of expired non-alcoholic beverages, 5,000 packets of dairy milk, 16,000 packets of bottled water, 28 cartons of pasta, candies, and other assorted expired products. Some of these items were already packaged and ready for distribution to the public.

Managers of the warehouses were arrested and taken in for questioning. Preliminary investigations linked the facilities to a company called BY Ventures. This led NAFDAC officials to extend the operation to supermarkets owned by the company in Minna, where additional expired products and counterfeit Goya oil were reportedly discovered.

The supermarkets were also sealed, and the managing director of BY Ventures, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo, has been invited for further questioning. During interrogation, Nadabo reportedly admitted ownership of the expired products.

NAFDAC, in a statement signed by its Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola, emphasized that investigations are ongoing. The agency stated that appropriate regulatory sanctions will be applied at the end of the process to deter others from engaging in similar activities that endanger public health.

This recent enforcement action highlights NAFDAC’s continued efforts to combat the circulation of substandard, expired, and fake products across Nigeria, protecting consumers from potential health risks.
