The Nigeria Association of women journalists has called for responsive commitment to addressing the gaps in education sector of the Northeast states ravaged by activities of insurgents..
The national secretary of the Association Comrade Ladi Bala made the call during an advocacy visit on the Nigeria Army 23 Brigade,Yola while soliciting for partnership with the Brigade on the” Campaign for school Enrollment and the Girl child in the Northeast “of the country.
The national Secretary who laments the number of about one million of school children out of school as a result of insurgency, schools destroyed and forced to closed for fear of attacks, says all efforts and ,resources must be mobilised and harnessed to restored the lost glory of Education in the area.
Comrade Ladi Bala further disclosed that NAWOJ will soon flag off campaign on School enrollment, retention and completion particularly for the Girl child so as to bridge the gaps.
The campaign is to mobilize, communities, parents and stakeholders to response to the the urgent need of restoration in Education.
In his response the Brigade Commander, 23 brigade, Brigadier General Abdullahi Muhammad commended NAWOJ and endorsed the partnership.

He further honour the national secretary of NAWOJ with a plague of recognition from the Brigade.
