Former chairman Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Adamawa State, Barr Aji Kamale has expressed concerns over the safety and security of young lawyers, especially from the Northern part of the country who might not join flight to Port Harcourt for the 2021 Annual General Conference AGF, holding in October, considering the cost and the effect of economic hardships on the members.

Speaking with the Periscope in Yola on Sunday, Kamale said with the gruesome murder of Barr Ameachi Udogaranya, Barr Ahmadu Ali Gulak and the recent attack on Barr Fabian Onwughulu, all along Anambra – Imo states, the safety and security of the young lawyers who would be travelling on a bus to Port Harcourt and would have to pass through the IPOB occupied Southeast states; Anambra – Enugu – Imo, should be paramount.
According to Kamale, his branch “is still suddened by in sorrow over the merciless murder of the Adamawa born Barr A A Gulak by yet unknown gunmen”.
Condoling with the family of Barr Ameachi Udogaranya, who until his brutal murder, was a member of Oguta branch, while lamenting over the state of insecurity, Kamale said “it’s sad to hear the death of Mr Udogaranya, murdered by unknown gunmen, while, according to the source, he was on his way to pick his children from school,”
Kamale also raised concern over the manhandling of Barr Fabian Onwughulu who narrowly escaped death.
kamale has called on the government to provide more security measures and fish out the predators who perpetrate these dastardly acts, where he also urged the leadership of NBA to ensure safety trip for her members who would be attending AGC in Port Harcourt between October 20 to 29, 2021, especially, the young lawyers from the northern part of the country.
