NDC Extends Deadline for Collection of Expression of Interest Forms

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Governorship positions.

In a statement released on Monday, the party announced that the deadline, which was earlier scheduled to close at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 17th May, 2026, has now been extended to 12:00 midnight on Sunday, 24th May, 2026.

According to the party, screening of aspirants who have purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest Forms will begin on Tuesday, 19th May, 2026, and end at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 26th May, 2026.

Collection and return of Nomination Forms for aspirants who are screened and cleared will commence on Wednesday, 20th May, 2026, and close on Tuesday, 26th May, 2026.

The NDC warned that no further extension will be granted beyond the new closing dates and urged all aspirants to ensure strict compliance. However, the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for the Office of the President has been closed.

Aspirants are required to appear for screening and pre-qualification interviews at designated venues with the following documents: educational certificates, birth certificate or declaration of age, four recent passport photographs, copy of voter’s identification card, NDC membership card, and a copy of their Curriculum Vitae. All documents must be submitted in six copies each.

The Screening Committee will assess aspirants based on the wishes of the electorate, local peculiarities, capacity and competence, as well as character. The party also directed the committee to take note of its affirmative action policy for women, youths, and persons living with disabilities.

The NDC encouraged aspirants to pursue consensus-building among stakeholders, noting that only cleared aspirants will be eligible to purchase Nomination Forms.

All aspirants have been advised to strictly adhere to the guidelines and timelines to avoid disqualification.
