Beneficiaries of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Adamawa has lauded the initiatives of Federal Government on skills acquisition training for job creation and the poverty alleviation.
Some of the beneficiaries made commendations in a separate interview with the newsmen in Yola.
Mohammed Sajo, General Manager Sajo blocks Industry, Yola a beneficiary who was trained in the past 10 year, lauded Federal Government for impacting positively in their life through NDE.
He said that, he was trained and empowered with N450,000 at then which he started making blocks.
According to him, the skill acquired was the 70 per cent of his success in life.
He added that with the business he married, owned house, car and many property part from paying school fees and other bills of his family and relatives.
Sajo added he trained many people among which 10 people were now running same business with some young people under them.
Mr Innocent Wazamda, a beneficiary repairing refrigerator said that NDE have done everything for him in life.
He said that he was trained and empowered in 1995 now in the business leaving successfully with his family.
According to him, he trained over 50 people and most of them were independent given the skills other unemployed youth.
He added that their business is seasonal but he generate a lot of money unlike the civil servants, especially during heat period get worth N200,000 monthly.
He appealed to federal government to do more on skill acquisition for more people to be engage like in the other countries.
Mr Godfrey Ishaka, another beneficiary who was trained on welding and fabrication expressed delight over the federal government initiative which made them proud in life.
He said that he was trained and empowered with welding machine and other equipment in 2020 after the training, now doing a successful life.
He said he was able to trained more now on their own, adding that currently 10 people were under him acquiring the skills.
“With this skill I married, owned house and many other things in life and I want to advised youth to get skills and be on their own than waiting for white collar jobs”, he said.
Malam Abdulaziz Ahmed and Yusha’u Babayo who were trained on cow patenting and goats production respectively were empowered with 100,000 each in 2021 commended NDE for the gesture.
They expressed their readiness to continue with the business for more profits.
