Jalingo, Aug 10, 2019 (NAN) The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Saturday disbursed the sum of N2,000,000 to 200 through its Micro Economic Enterprise Scheme (MEES) in Taraba.

Dr Nasir Argungu, the Director General of the directorate presented the cash of N10,000 to each of the beneficiaries at a ceremony in Jalingo.
Represented by the Taraba Coordinator of NDE Alhaji Aderemi Adebisi, Argungu commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing enabling environment for the NDE to lift many out of poverty.
“I want to commend president Buhari for giving the directorate this ample opportunity to lift many people out of poverty,” he said.
Argungu explained that the directorate had earlier distributed N3 million to 300 entrepreneurs on Feb 11, 2019 in the state.
On his part, the state Coordinator of NDE, Alhaji Adebisi noted that the main objective of the loan scheme was to inject more funds into micro businesses because they are the foundation of industrial development.
He urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds to better their lots.
Alhaji Abba Tukur, the Galadima of Muri commended the NDE for relentless efforts to tackle youth unemployment in the state.
