NDE organizes training for unemployed graduates in Adamawa

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced business training for unemployed graduates in Adamawa.

The state Coordinator of the NDE, Mallam Isma’ila Abubakar, made this known in a statement in Yola.

Abubakar said that the training known as Start and Grow Your Business has commenced with 48 participants.

Abubakar said that the training was to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship, uphold the dignity of productive labour and encourage opportunities for broad based economic development and employment generation for others through enterprise creation among unemployed graduates.

Abubakar said that after the training , the participants we’re expected to write feasibility reports which would qualify them to access loan facilities to start their business.

The coordinator said that the directorate had inline with its objective of fighting unemployment recruited 120 youths in each of the three senatorial districts to undergo five months training in seven trades under the Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme.

He listed the seven trades as: hair dressing, interior decorations, electrical installations, plumbing, GSM repairs, computer operations and maintenance.

The coordinator also said that 25 trainees were recruited for Environmental Beautification Training Scheme.

“They were since posted to their various master trainers to undergo three months training on hard and soft landscaping.”

While re-iterating the directorate commitment in job creation through training, the coordinator urged all stakeholders particularly the state and local governments for support to succeed. ##
