The North East Online Network NEON; the association of online publishers in the northeast Nigeria, has joined in mourning over the death of a veteran journalist Hamman Adama Hamman. The sad incident was reported to have occurred on Monday in the night and he was buried on Tuesday October 15, 2019.
In a press release signed by its chairman Dr. Adamu Muhammad Dodo, NEON lamented that the death of Hamman Adama Hamman “is indeed a huge lost to not only the broadcasting job but also to the media industry, most especially in Adamawa state, Northeast Nigeria.
Hamman Adama started his public service- broadcasting- carrier in the defunct Gongola State, Northeast Nigeria, with Gongola Broadcasting Corporation GBC Yola the present Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola where he retired though not tired.
Hamman Adama was the pioneer Fulfulde news caster and translator with Pulaaku FM Radio established by HRH the Lamido Adamawa Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, where he dedicated his selfless service until his transition to great beyond. His initiatives, critical, training and mentoring have been the subjects of lamentation suggestive of the fact that a wide vacuum has been created with Hamman Adama’s call to glory and as Alh. Abubakar Sambo the General Manager would say, “we in Pulaaku FM Radio have lost a great and dependable colleague indeed.”
NEON said that Hamman Adama has had a fulfilled experience indicative of paying his broadcasting dues fully, passionately and indeed satisfactorily.
NEON prayed for the soul of the deceased to be reprieved; “May Allah SWT forgive Hamman Adama Hamman’s weaknesses, reward his good deeds with Jannatul Firdaus and bless the family he has left behind.”
NEON was not alone in the mourning, “there’re his relatives, the members of staff of ABC Yola and Pulaaku FM Radio as a broadcasting family, the Adamawa Emirate Council and the faithful who daily observed subhi (morning) prayers at the Modibbo Adams Central Mosque in Yola ancient city where he was said to be maintaining a position in the first row behind the Imam, among others for which NEON has the obligation to extend its condolence to.
“May also the groups have the the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Dr. Dodo concluded
